3D printing is particularly suitable for creating single spare parts or small series whenever and wherever it is needed. Often, the spare parts are available as multi-component products, and in order to replace a particular single component they must all ordered as a set. 3D printing, usually in a combination with 3D scanning, removes this obstacle and saves substantial funds, as well as weeks or even months of waiting for delivery.
In cases when the product is discontinued by the manufacturer and it is hard to find the spare parts on the market, the 3D printing is one of the few options for extending the exploitation.
The technology also makes easier the creating of modules and accessories for various industries.
